The new Nintendo Wii Family Trainer will be the next Wii craze that many won't be able to avoid! It looks like a bit of a dance mat, but it has many different purposes also. Guaranteed to be the most wanted christmas gift this year!
Manufactured and released by Namco Bandai, promotional shots for this “must-have” Wii item has created a huge positive fan response. From far it looks more like a revolutionary accessory that first saw the light of day back in the play station days. But here's the real scoop:
Taking notes from Konami's DDR dance mat handbook, Bandai Namco Games is going to be releasing this mat based game title sometime this year in Japan. It is called the “ Family Trainer”. Strangely enough the game originated on the Nintendo Famicon all the way back in 1986. The new Wii version will be an exercise game that utilizes both a bundled mat along with the Wii-mote. Mini games are included with this game such as log jumping, mountain sliding, canoning, mole-whacking, waterfall climbing and the best part, a temple of doom style train ride. The Wii console itself is this time offering plenty of third part support but unfortunately they couldn't figure out a way to successfully get this to work with the Wii Balance Board or Wii fit.
This game might flop, but on the other hand, it might also be a huge success, especially amongst families with kids between the ages of 3-15. Anything can happen! We'll just have to wait and see how successful the Family Trainer will actually be. If Wii fit was any indication then one might forecast this game unit to also be a huge success , but only time will tell really.
